My Story

My name is Kat, and I've been creating art for as long as I can remember. For me, art has never just been something I do, it's been a place where I can go. A place to feel, to understand, and to belong.

I'm autistic. Growing up as a neurodivergent person, I often felt like I didn't quite fit into the world around me. Social spaces could feel overwhelming, and at times, isolating. But in that quiet space, I found something deeply meaningful: nature, books, and art. Like many people, my journey hasn't been a straight line. Finding my path has come with uncertainty, self-doubt, and moments where I questioned where I truly belonged. But nature offered me peace and patterns I could understand. Books gave me comfort, imagination, and companionship. And art became my voice when words felt too difficult to find.

I've always been fascinated by the small, often overlooked details. The hidden patterns in the leaves, the way colours blend and change with the light, the quiet movement that exists everywhere if you take the time to see it. This deep appreciation influences my artwork, where I aim to capture not just how nature looks, but how it feels. Inspired by the softness and emotion of Impressionism, I try to emulate those fleeting moments, the colours, textures, and gentle energy of the natural world, so that others, especially children, can experience that same sense of wonder, comfort, and connection.

My mission is to create meaningful, heartfelt work that resonates with others, especially young readers who may feel a little lost, a little different, or a little unseen. I want my art and stories to feel like a safe place, the same way books are for me.

I am deeply motivated to inspire children to embrace who they are, to find beauty in their uniqueness, and to know they are not alone. I want to help nurture creativity, imagination, and emotional understanding through everything I create.

My Mission and Goals

My Vision for Young Readers

I believe every child deserves to see themselves reflected in the stories they read. My vision is to create work that is gentle, inclusive, and comforting. Stories and artworks that speak to those quiet feelings that aren't always easy to explain.

For children who feel like they don't quite belong, I want to offer something I needed growing up: reassurance, warmth, and the reminder that being different is not something to hide, but to cherish.

Nature has always been a quiet kind of magic for me, and I believe it plays an important role in a child's world too. The gentle rustling of leaves, the shifting light through branches, the soft, steady rhythms of the nature world. For children, nature can be a grounding space, a place where curiosity is nurtured and imagination can wander freely without pressure. For me, it became a sanctuary.

My Commitment to Detail

Every piece I create is made with care, patience, and intention. I pour myself into every tiny detail so that my art feels alive and genuine. I believe the smallest details can hold the deepest meaning.

Art, to me, is about connection. And that connection is built through thoughtfulness and authenticity.

My Journey and Experience

My journey has taught me the  importance of compassion, not only for others but for ourselves.

Through my work, I hope to gently bring awareness, to encourage kindness, and appreciation for our beautiful world full of nature.

Most of all, I want to give back the same sense of inspiration and comfort that once helped me. If my work can make even ONE child feel understood, then I know I am on the right path.

Last of all, I wish to grow and to learn more! I'm seeking any opportunities to expand my skill set and knowledge! I desire to work with a children's book illustration agency and finally get some of my most vulnerable and beautiful works published!

Thank you for taking your time to read this!!
